Seoul, September 15, 2025 – Samsung Electronics has officially opened the 9th Samsung AI Forum, running from September 15–16, 2025 in Korea. The annual event brings together world-renowned scholars, researchers, and industry leaders to discuss the latest breakthroughs in artificial intelligence, with this year’s theme centered on “Vertical AI Strategies and Vision for the Semiconductor Industry.”

Global Experts Take the Stage

The forum began with keynote speeches from leading AI pioneers.

  • Yoshua Bengio, a professor at the University of Montreal and a Turing Award laureate, highlighted deep learning’s evolving role in shaping the next generation of intelligent systems.
  • Stefano Ermon from Stanford University shared insights into diffusion-based models and their applications for large-scale AI systems.

Their sessions set the tone for a forum dedicated to advancing AI research and exploring practical applications in technology and society.

Samsung’s Strategic Outlook

In the opening remarks, Samsung executives emphasized the company’s commitment to making AI more intuitive, safer, and seamlessly integrated across its devices and services. With semiconductors at the heart of the digital economy, Samsung showcased how vertical AI strategies—linking hardware with advanced AI models—can accelerate innovation across industries.

The first day, hosted by Samsung’s Device Solutions (DS) Division, highlighted how AI is driving innovation in chip design, data processing, and energy efficiency, shaping the semiconductor industry’s future.

Key Announcements and Research Directions

Beyond research presentations, Samsung revealed new initiatives aimed at AI safety and next-generation agentic AI:

  • AI Safety Research: Samsung introduced “Scientist AI,” a model designed to verify information and reduce risks of misinformation in AI systems.
  • Agentic AI Roadmap: The company outlined plans to move beyond generative AI toward autonomous, agent-like AI systems capable of proactive decision-making. This technology is expected to play a major role in Samsung’s consumer devices, from smartphones to TVs.

Looking Ahead to Day 2

The second day of the forum will shift focus to broader applications of AI in consumer technology, healthcare, and sustainability. More academic research, discussions on AI ethics, and potential updates on on-device AI frameworks are also expected.

Why It Matters

The Samsung AI Forum has become one of Asia’s most influential AI events, bridging the gap between academic research and real-world applications. As AI continues to reshape industries, Samsung is positioning itself at the forefront of integrating hardware innovation with cutting-edge AI models—a move that could define the next decade of technology.
